CEREMONY WAS CREATED BY FORMING LETTERS WITH MASKING TAPE,
PHOTOGRAPHING THE LETTERS AND DIGITIZING THE FORMS.
FOR BRANDING AND DISPLAY USES.
I tore a length of masking tape and pressed it to the studio door. Carefully, I formed letters with each folded edge, shaping them the way a sculptor shapes clay. It was supposed to say where the party was, but I knew it was no ordinary party - this was a ceremony. The smell of paint filled the room, echoing a long line of artists who once stood in this place, carving out their vision by hand. I watched the tape catch the fluorescent light, crisp corners revealing that even a simple piece of tape can be imbued with meaning. In a world of digital shortcuts, there was a stubborn satisfaction in doing it all manually. Each new letter became a vow: this is more than a sign—it’s a "ceremony". It calls to anyone who steps across the threshold, reminding them that creation, in its rawest form, demands to be seen.
