Late-night drafts and half-finished coffee cups kept me company as I sifted through old photographs of Mexico City’s sidewalks. Each image showed off a different slice of hand-painted typography — broad strokes on chipped walls, ragged edges on weathered shop signs. They spoke of a city alive with art, a city that breathes creativity like most breathe air. From those photos, I carved out the beginnings of MISHANN. Working with a flat brush, I tried to capture the same raw energy found in those streets, something bold and honest enough for modern branding. The final typeface struck that balance — strong outlines echoing timeless craft, while clean shapes gave it a fresh edge. Sometimes, you look to the past to ignite what’s next. With MISHANN, I found a conversation between old and new that felt as romantic and alive as any midnight in Mexico City.
